Once again the Great River Race will be finishing at Ham.
On the 25th September the race will be setting off from Docklands at 9am with the first finishers expected to pass under Richmond Bridge around 3pm to cross the finish line about 15mins later.
A spectacular boat race up London’s River Thames that attracts around 300 crews from all over the globe and appeals to every level of competitor from those who enjoy fun, fancy dress and charity stunts, to serious sports men and women who like to win. A great fun day out for competitors and spectators alike.
The Great River Race attracts both the true racer and the leisure rower and, in developing into ‘London’s River Marathon’, is doing for rowing what the ‘Road Marathon’ did for running. Not surprising when the course is a gruelling 21 miles from London Docklands to Richmond.
During the day there will be entertainment for spectators to enjoy when not watching the action. Check back regularly for updates of what’s going on where in Richmond and Ham.
Visit the Great River Race website for further details on the race and how to get involved. The closing date for entries to compete is the 6th September.
